MENYEDIAKAN KUCING UNTUK PERTANDINGAN @ PAMERAN

LATIHAN UNTUK SI KECIL

Seekor anak kucing selalunya mempunyai mood yang sangat lasak (active). Kadangkala ada juga anak kucing yang 'passive'. Anak kucing boleh mula dilatih seawal umur 2 setengah bulan sebaik sahaja ia tinggal berasingan dengan ibunya. Terdapat pelbagai jenis alatan asas untuk mengajar @ mendidik anak kucing supaya mempunyai keinginan untuk bermain.

Memang menjadi sifat @ lumrah seekor kucing itu suka menyiasat seperti pepatah Inggeris "Curiosity Kill The Cat " .

Recognizing Aggressive Behavior

Illustrations body postures of cats.

Notice that in the series from A0B0 to A3B0, the cat becomes more offensive, whereas the cat becomes more defensive in the series from A0B0 to A0B3. A3B3 represents a cat with defensive and offensive behaviors. A0B0 represents a calm cat. A3B0 represents the most aggressive cat in an offensive, assertive sense; this is a cat clients will want to watch in situations involving profound inter-cat aggression or unprovoked aggression against humans (from Overall63 [used with permission, adapted from Leyhausen P. Cat behavior: the predatory and social behavior of domestic and wild cats. Garland STPM Press: New York, 1979]).

Illustrations facial expressions of cats.

Notice that in the series from A0B0 to A2B0 the cat becomes more reactive, whereas fear and an increased unwillingness to interact is more pronounced in the series from A0B0 to A0B2. The diagonal from A0B0 to A2B2 represents a cat that is becoming more offensive and assertive. More offensive postures are characterized by postures above the diagonal, whereas more defensive behaviors are characterized by the postures below the diagonal. A0B0 represents a calm cat. (from Overall63 [used with permission, adapted from Leyhausen P. Cat behavior: the predatory and social behavior of domestic and wild cats. Garland STPM Press: New York, 1979]).

How to Calm Down an Aggressive Cat

How to Calm Down an Aggressive Cat

Cats respond with aggression to express territorialism, to show dominance over another cat, or in response to pain or fear. No matter what the cause, dealing with an aggressive cat is a difficult situation requiring patience and a great deal of effort. When a cat pins its ears back, widens its eyes, growls, hisses or adopts a "Halloween cat" posture, it is entering aggression mode. Owners of aggressive cats can take steps to minimize this potentially dangerous behavior, and avoid bites and scratches by working with the cat on
a long-term basis.

source: e-how

·  1
Protect yourself. Wear long sleeves and pants when dealing with aggressive cats. Wear gloves to avoid being bitten or scratched. Safety glasses are needed when dealing with extremely aggressive cats. Keep a towel handy to restrain the cat if necessary.
·  2
Determine the source of your cat's aggression. Look for common triggers such as people, objects or situations that set your cat on edge. Knowing the things that cause your cat to act with aggression allows you to tailor the cat's environment to avoid those things.
·  3
Move with confidence and speak in calm, even tones. Your cat picks up on visual and verbal cues. If you sound or appear nervous, scared or otherwise in a state of high alert, the cat is more likely to respond with fear or aggression.
·  4
Avoid using words that have distinct "s" sounds -- to a frightened or aggressive cat, these words sound like hissing. Instead of saying "such a sweet kitty," for example, opt for a less-intimidating phrase such as "good girl." Similarly, avoid interacting with the cat in rooms containing appliances that make a hissing noise, such as steam cleaners.
·  5
Approach the cat with a neutral object that doesn't smell like humans or another animal - a capped pen, for example. Approach the cat's nose head-on with the object and allow the cat to sniff. Presenting the cat with a non-confrontational, feline-like greeting can calm a nervous or skittish cat.
·  6
Adopt a "less is more" approach. All cats respond better when they're tricked into thinking something was their idea. Use as little force and restraint when handling the cat as possible.
·  7
Give the cat a safe space that it can call its own. When confronted with an unpleasant situation, cats have two options: fight or flee. Allowing the cat to flee to a small, dark, confined space where it feels safe (such as a cat carrier covered with a blanket) reduces the risk of injury for you, the cat and any innocent bystanders.
·  8
Invest in a calming pheromone spray or diffuser. Pheromone solutions release a scent that mimics the cat's own chemical responses, promoting a calm atmosphere.
·  9
Spay or neuter your cat. Intact cats have hormones raging through their systems, which cause an increase in aggressive, territorial behaviors and hunting instincts. Spaying or neutering your cat reduces the amount of these hormones, leading to a calmer kitty.
·  10
Work with your cat multiple times throughout the day for short periods. The more you interact with your cat and try to assuage its fears and calm its upsets, the more the cat becomes used to interactions. Keep interaction periods short to avoid overloading the cat with stimuli

WHAT COLOUR IS YOUR CAT?

All colors are also seen with different markings - called patterns. The three most common patterns in cats are solid, tabby and pointed. All colors and patterns can have some white. Referred to as white spotting, this is also a masking gene. However, white spotting only hides some of a cat's color instead of all of it.
It is not color and pattern that determine a cat’s breed. That is established by the physical characteristics described in each breed’s standard. Just as all pointed cats are not Siamese and all longhaired cats are not Persians and all tailless cats are not Manx, all blue cats are not Russian Blues. The same color and pattern can be seen in many different breeds. For example, there are brown classic tabby Maine Coons, American Shorthairs, Oriental Shorthairs, Devon Rex, Persians, Norwegian Forest Cats, Siberians, and Scottish Folds. There are seal point Siamese, Himalayans, Birmans, Snowshoes, Ragdolls, Balinese, and Tonkinese. Domestic cats have all the same colors and patterns that are seen in purebred cats.
The color and pattern names used on this site are the official names used by The International Cat Association (TICA). This is a list of other names commonly used to describe the same color:
Official Color
Commonly Called
RedOrange, rust, marmalade, yellow, ginger
BlueGray, grey
ChocolateBrown
SealBrown
SilverGrey or gray
Black Tortie & WhiteCalico
CreamBuff
The addition of different modifying genes changes the two basic colors. Red can change to cream. Black can change to blue, chocolate, cinnamon, lilac, or fawn. Chocolate, cinnamon, lilac, and fawn are seldom seen in the general cat population. This site will concentrate on the most common patterns and the four most commonly seen colors - black, blue, red, and cream. We hope you enjoy the challenge of determining your cat's color and pattern.
Solid - Cats that are one color and do not have any stripes.
Tabbies - Cats with stripes - called tabby markings. The tabby markings have four different patterns.
Torties/Torbies - Usually females, these cats are a mixture of both black and red. They can be solids or tabbies.
Pointed - Color is only seen on the face, feet, and tail. Those points can be solid or tabby.
With Whites - Any of the above with white added. The term particolor means any cat with white.
